Style. Whether it's a chance meeting or an interview for a new job, what's on the outside is just as important as what's on the inside. We've all been told "it's what's on the inside that counts", however, too often nobody gets to see what's on the inside because "first impressions are everything!"

As a stylist, I've advised people from all walks of life. No matter our age, profession or body shape, we all benefit from looking our best. How you present yourself tells the world how you want to be treated. Be sure to visit my website at www.karensuzanne.com if you or someone you know is looking for personal assistance!

It's no secret I have an affinity for classic dress. When I say classic, I mean from days gone by. The styles that came from the 40's, 50's and even into the 60's were conservative, well made and quite frankly, are here to stay. It's obvious there was a real love for the shape of a woman's body, the sharp line of a man's shoulder in a slim, tailored suit. The hemlines down to the footwear were flattering on just about every body type. We see these retro styles influencing even the newest, youngest designers. Even companies like Ben Sherman and Bettie Page clothing are as successful as ever.

Cable network AMC's show, Mad Men, debuted in 2007 and has been a wildly successful series. The character development is superb and the historical authenticity is unmatched in its visual props and costume design. For the third year in a row, Banana Republic is partnering with the show and Emmy nominee Janie Bryant, costume designer for Mad Men. They will be promoting the show through its store windows and a line of clothing that's inspired from the iconic era. The newest collection is a modern interpretation of approximately 65 pieces of work attire that can transform easily into 'after 5'  but with a little 60's flair.

In fact, if you're in the Dallas area, Banana Republic at Northpark Mall will be promoting the limited edition collection by hosting a "Mad Men Cocktail Party", August 11th  from 6-9pm. Cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and music. So swanky, so cool, even Don Draper would attend.

when you look great, you feel even better
