Style. Whether it's a chance meeting or an interview for a new job, what's on the outside is just as important as what's on the inside. We've all been told "it's what's on the inside that counts", however, too often nobody gets to see what's on the inside because "first impressions are everything!"

As a stylist, I've advised people from all walks of life. No matter our age, profession or body shape, we all benefit from looking our best. How you present yourself tells the world how you want to be treated. Be sure to visit my website at www.karensuzanne.com if you or someone you know is looking for personal assistance!

I'd like to occasionally highlight people for their fashion savvy and comment on how they really show creativity in putting items together. It's important to know your body's angles and just how you appear to the rest of the world. Unfortunately this week is all about people getting it wrong.

Dream job coaching in the NBA, check. Well made suit, check. Pocket square, check. Socks that don't match your pants, CHECK.  Guys, please match your socks to your pants. Not your shoes, not your belt, nothing but the pants. I'm not quite sure what he was using as his matching guide for this suit (because there's not a dark thing on it), but it's wrong. If you're wearing a suit, khakis or dress pants, match your socks to your pants. If you're wearing jeans, I recommend keeping your socks dark.

Unfortunately for him, the entire basketball loving world got to see his sock choice. Yikes! Maybe they were his "lucky" socks, which is a shame because The Thunder lost. Bummer. Whether you're on national t.v., or just headed out the door for coffee, keep yourself in check. Just a few simple changes make a huge difference in appearance.

Perhaps this isn't HER dream job but it's important to look your best regardless of your job or station in life. I think you should dress for the job you want not the job you have. It's always ok to be the best dressed person in the room. Put it this way, wouldn't you rather be overdressed than underdressed? That brings me to my friend in purple. This is an older woman with a great figure who's intent on NOT showing it. She's not only hiding behind thick purple stockings, but she's also wearing men's shorts. I assure you this isn't a costume or a joke. She was wearing this at work and no, she's not a circus performer or maker of balloon animals. I could go on for days about what's wrong with this look. Wear clothes that flatter. Period. It doesn't cost a lot of money to look good. A funny thing happens when you look great, you feel great too!

when you look great, you feel even better
